Visiting Masjid an-Nabawi & the Rawdah
A prayer in the Prophet's Mosque is better than a thousand prayers elsewhere, except al-Masjid al-Haram. Visiting the Rawdah needs a time-slot permit from the Nusuk app.
- 1
Enter with the right foot
Enter with your right foot, say the duʿa for entering the mosque, and pray two rakʿahs of Tahiyyat al-Masjid.
اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ
Allāhumma iftaḥ lī abwāba raḥmatik
O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy.
- 2
Book the Rawdah in Nusuk
Open the Nusuk app, choose the Rawdah visit, and pick an available slot. Men and women have separate times. Arrive early at the gate named in your permit.
- 3
Greet the Prophet ﷺ and his companions
Walk calmly to the front of the noble grave, lower your voice, and give salam to the Prophet ﷺ, then to Abu Bakr and ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with them). Keep moving so others can pass.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
As-salāmu ʿalayka yā Rasūl Allāh wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh
Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
Hadith: Sahih al-Bukhari 1190, Sahih Muslim 1394.
